New Jersey 9-11 Memorial
Liberty State Park, Jersey City, New Jersey • 2004 • competition entry • in collaboration with Rob Fisher

Four distinct elements compose this proposed Memorial to the seven hundred and two New Jersey residents who perished in the 9/11 tragedy. A powerful 70’ x 90’ circular sculpture frames the New York skyline where the World Trade Center once stood. The names of the lost are engraved along the stone base of the sculpture flanking the Seal of New Jersey. A landscape of seven hundred and two planter boxes are positioned in three quadrants of the site, referencing the number and location of those lost. Broad walkways join all the visual elements into a cohesive whole and accommodate large audiences during ceremonial events and public gatherings.
